Living yoga in daily life is a very subtle art in which one is in the end both one’s own “master” and one’s own “pupil”. The practice, in its intimacy and simplicity, forms the substance of a unique experience which in turn becomes a new source of inspiration. Using the yogic disciplines, we seek to create a stable base (sthira), but also a free and joyous disposition (sukha). Openness and receptiveness are the foundations of a precise state of attention which flows, perfectly in tune with the spontaneous flow of vital energy (prana-shakti). Yoga is a way of life: the physical exercises are there to develop the feeling of tranquillity, and the laborious effort which served as a framework at the start dissolves into effortlessness. Yoga is a way of going beyond one’s own limits by means of actions directed towards the development of the intelligence.

Module 2 – October 2006/July 2007 (Completed)

Iyengar teaching skills: theoretical principles and practical teaching situations, corrections and adjustments, use of supports, specific workshops, elaboration of a basic technical vocabulary. Yoga philosophy: general introduction, study of classical texts such as Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras.
The basis of a personal discipline:
Asana and pranayama practice by means of a monthly programme of sequences.
Monthly written work – a specification sheet, an anatomy and physiology dossier, a theme for reflection and a log book which will facilitate the continuous assessment of the student’s knowledge and understanding and enable his or her ongoing personal support. Outside contributors (e.g. ayurvedic energetics, psychomotricity, counselling...) and optional supervision classes will also be on offer. The detailed training programme and the rules and regulations will be sent to you with the confirmation of your inscription.
